Introduction to Linux

Thursday July 6th, 2:00pm - 4:00pm

  • Learn the basics of the Linux/Unix OS, topics include:
  • Using the command line
  • How to access and list your files, and how they are organized
  • Connecting to a Unix system
  • Editing files and running applications

Introduction to HPC

Monday July 17th, 10:00am - 12:00pm

  • We give an overview of High Performance Computing:
  • Computer architecture
  • HPC system types
  • Schedulers
  • What is available at CCV and at other institutions
  • Where to get info and help

Introduction to Oscar

Tuesday August 1st, 1:30pm - 3:30pm

  • An introduction Oscar - CCV's high-performance computer:
  • There will be an overview of Oscar and some HANDS-ON getting started
